Deathly buzzing sound and possible CPU issues

I have a brand new acer laptop. It's an acer aspire v5-573PG, specs are

    • Intel Core i7 4500U (1.80GHz)
    • 8GB Memory 1TB HDD
    • NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M

So it is quite a good powerful laptop-or at least it should be. The last few days I have had this AWFUL buzzing sound accompanied by what seems to be a frame or so of lag when playing video games, watching Youtube videos, or watching windows media player videos. It sounds like the buzzing sound when you get a blue screen of death and it occurs about every 30 seconds. It comes through the speakers and I have tried different earphones to no avail.

I found a youtube video showing the EXACT same sound I recieve!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_wDuSGbBxI
It's the buzzing sound about 3-7 seconds into the video.

My buzzing/stuttering is nowhere near as severe-at least not yet.

In fact it seems to have started about week ago, very rarely I was hearing some static while watching youtube videos but it wasn't much and I figured it was from the headphones. Now it's very annoying, I sure hope ACER didn't send me a defective product, I can't really afford to wait weeks for it to be sent in for repairs.

And now a second and possibly related issue: I've been having all kinds of problems with my disk and memory usage the past few days I checked. I've had some programs hogging outrageous amounts of my disk such as windows protection and now periodically, windows modules installer worker. Something is wrong. This should be a powerful laptop more than capable of handling basic idle windows.

Even when I have just firefox and windows media player open....

Is something like windows media player supposed to take so much of my disk?

I have updated everything I can including my graphics card and the sound drivers.

This is what I get from sfc /scannow

Thanks for your help, I greatly appreciate it.

Use this command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth then do the sfc /scannow command again after. Reboot when finished.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to help me, much appreciated. I ran the scans and sfc scan said windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations. The problem remains, I even get slight cracking/popping static too.

That is a good start anyway.

Is the problem with CPU and disk still happening? Another thing you could check is that you have all Windows updates installed as that is what the Windows Modules Installer is doing. Once you have all updates installed (keep checking until it says no updates available) then that part of the problem at least should go away.

I think I finally got windows to do all the updates. I think the CPU issue is better now-I also tried changing the virtual memory which was set at 1280 mb for some reason. I occasionally get 100% spikes like this

But I don't see any correlation between the spikes and the terrible buzzing sound and stuttering, which seems to be getting worse.

Is the crackling sound coming from the speakers or from within the laptop? If from within the laptop I'd have to say you have a hardware problem maybe even some kind of electrical arcing going on. May have no choice but to send it in for repair/replacement.

Where did you buy it? Sometimes they will replace if under 30 days.

If the jack to the speaker port on my Dell is not pushed tight and anything touched it, it makes a loud sound such as static..
I think it has to do with ground and hardware. I leave it alone as being a desktop it rarely happens. I can cause it by wiggling the jack.
Mine is 3 years old but I would contact the company and complain as they should be able to check it out and give you a new one if not a repair. I know I was not much direct help but wanted you to know of my issue and suggestion.

I bought it from newegg only a month ago.
The sound is definitely coming from the speakers, it's not like a physical sound from inside the computer.

I talked to Acer customer support, they claim it's a software issue and just said to do a complete wipe and reinstall which means I'm going to have to backup and install everything over again...and apparently if it comes down to sending it for repairs they say it will take 7-10+days after they receive it. I'll let you guys know what happens and keep you updated.

I've had clients that did that and the OEM/Repair facility wiped the HDD anyway, seems part of the procedure was to set it back to factory condition.
