    Physical Memory Full

Help, my physical memory is at 97% all of a sudden and causing major lag in games. Nothing in the task manager is using that much memory so I don't know what's causing it. I have Windows 8.1 with 8 gigs.

Edit: I tried to restart and there is one app that isn't closing and preventing it from restarting. It doesn't tell me what the app is called. How do I find out what program that is?

Did to computer eventually restart, did you not have the option to go back to close the app and what were the last things you were doing when you decided to reboot? I had a similar problem on closing but it went away by itself.

Try CleanMem Free - it helps with memory leaks, you do not need to set up anything, just install and forget.

    NO

All such programs are snake oil and worse than useless. They will not solve the problem but almost certainly make it worse. Microsoft has devoted an enormous amount of development time into Windows memory management and all these programs do is throw a wrench into it. At best all they do is make the numbers in Task Manager more attractive to those who do not understand them. I would not recommend such a program under any circumstances.

What we have here is a problem. The best way to solve a problem is to first obtain all relevant information. A screenshot of Task Manager - Performance tab would be a good start.

Cleanmem does not clean RAM, Windows does, Cleanmem only asks Windows to do it.

And no, it is not a snake oil, it saved me money, since I was unable to play games, because of low RAM messages. Cleanmem solved it. I did not have to buy more, like everyone said, that it was the only option.

I rather like that, you can increase...
Hello all. New member here. I have had an issue with my PC since I "upgraded" to windows 8.1 earlier this year that is driving me batty. Unfortunately, I upgraded the hardware (motherboard, CPU, and RAM) at the same time, so I can't rule out a hardware issue completely. The issue stuck around...

Hi all. I have a full windows 8.1 tablet (not RT), original and comes with Office too, (got the keys). The internal eMMc is 32GB so I learnt from windows that the recovery partition can be copied to a USB. So I did and windows asked, do I want to delete the recovery partition, so I deleted it to...
Hi guys, No matter what I try to do normally my physical memory usage never seems to exceed 31% even if I'm doing something that means the processor is flat-out. However, I gave the system stressing tool 'HeavyLoad' a whirl and it did deplete all the memory (eventually) whether that's any help,...
After my new build froze up during boot up into Windows 8, I tried to run Windows 8's built-in Windows Memory Diagnostic, extended setting, but it got stuck at 21% of 1st pass (10% overall) after running it overnight (at least 12 hours). I had 4x4GB memory modules, and re-ran this test with only...
