    Speccy

I was reading an article where some seemingly knowledgeable people where stating that Speccy was giving wrong motherboard temp readings.
I am using it and wanted to know if it is good to keep or should I be looking elsewhere?
As surf and write this my MB and CPU are about 53C to 56C.
I have a dell Inspiron 5010 with an Intel i5 processor -2.53 GHz.

My motherboard is 52 and my CPU 48 at the moment apparently. Seems odd the motherboard is hotter than the CPU.

Interestingly TPFanControl reports the CPU temperature as being 52 so perhaps Specky has them reversed.

I assume those are laptop readings. Those would be about the same as mine for my laptop. Because they change with conditions I think we are close.
CPU 32 C and MB 28 C are the numbers on my desktop i5.

They are indeed laptop temperatures. Generally I'm always about 50 when just using browser - same as you.

I told Mike I'll have tech test mine in a couple of weeks. He is a friend who repairs pcs for a living and will tell me straight. I'll let you know. I have never had a shut down, thank goodness, so we will see.

    Thank you for the addition.
It is good to have a reference.

Do you have a laptop to display?

I use Speccy and a few others (CoreTemp, HWInfo, etc...) to check my temps when setting up my overclocking and running Prime95 and I have found it to be accurate in the systems where I've used it.
