    AOMEI System Image question

I am trying to create a system image in order to make four other computers in the image of the first. I found amazing help here (thank you so much!!). Instead of using an HDD I decided to try the AOMEI Backupper freeware. I used the System Backup utility but it gave me two choices: C:Gateway or *:ESP. I only barely know what I'm doing (librarian trying for IT duties). I chose C: thinking logically that is what it is but am insecure that it truly created what I need in order to do system recover or restore or whatever it is now on the other machines. So, my question is what is *:ESP and should I have selected it instead or in addition? Should I use the Windows system image instead with directions from Brink for 100% assured results? Any advice greatly appreciated.

I use Aomei. I've never seen the choice for *:ESP.

I know. Weird, right? The machine is a Gateway all-in-one. I also did the system image backup to an HDD just to be sure. Pretty insecure about this process but I have to just dive in! Thanks for the reply.

    Clint,
Here is a screen shot. I'm going to try again. The System Image process isn't working the way I want. I got a Windows Recovery Environment error when I tried to boot from the USB where I'd created the system image. So I'm going to give this one last shot before throwing in the towel and just reinstalling on all 4 machines. Here it is. Maybe I shouldn't choose system backup?

Yikes. I hope this shows bigger in the post. Pretty small here.

I usually use the "clone" feature and works each and every time.Hook up drive "to be" boot drive in the second machine, choose partition or disk clone, select destination partition or disk, start clone, when finished mark cloned partition or disk as active via disk management, should be ready.Repeat for the rest of your machines.

Mine don't show that. The only thing I can think of the *:ESP is that it's Gateways name for a recovery partition.

    Clint,
Probably. In any event, that didn't work to image 2nd machine.

Proudtobegeek: If I had more time and expertise I'd try that but my eyes glazed over about halfway through. At this point, I've spent so much time trying to figure out the reimage bit that I could have reinstalled and setup Windows on at least two of the machines. I'm in a time crunch so that is my new working plan. I will continue to try and to try to learn the best way to create a master image in order to image others.

    Thanks!
