Windows 8.1 doesn't optimize some "partitions"

The long story short, I was playing an online game when suddenly I've got a runtime error which froze the screen. I had to push the power button and my laptop restarted, slowly than usually but otherwise O.K. However, when I tried to do the maintenance using the Optimize tool this is what I see now:

The "volumes" (for the lack of a better word) Push Button Reset and \\?\Volume{9789f0... that have never been showing before are showing now and when I try to force a manual optimization the window just blinks but doesn't do anything. I've had the optimization set to "weekly" but after that I and it changed to "daily" for at least 3 days now but this didn't solve the problem. Highlighting and right-clicking doesn't work.

How can I solve my problem?

Might be a glitch in the system.
The 'Push Button Reset', I'm guessing, is a recovery drive and the '\\?\Volume{9789f0...' should be your system reserved partition, both of which should
    not be available for Optimization.

Mine is the same as yours, with push button reset and the weird one. It has always been this way for me. I learned to ignore it after a while.

Than how come it's showing "Needs Optimization"?

It would've been fine and dandy if not for me wanting to create a rescue disc because my laptop didn't come with one. So before I do that I want to make sure the system is not screwed up already.

This program tries to replace Windows' default defragmentation widget by being more advanced and offering more style, features, and customizations. We're not kidding about replacing, either -- the program will turn off your usual defragmenter and install other programs if you don't uncheck those options during install, so be careful.
Yeah, O.K. If I ever wanted a trojan I can always download something from a torrent website.

Just about every freeware program will stuff you crap if you're not careful. That's why you click either 'custom' or 'advanced' when installing. I had problems with an earlier version of Smart Defrag and vowed to never install it again. Personally, I use Auslogics DiskDefrag.
