    Stuck in a restart loop

    I have an Asus laptop running on Windows 8 that starts up to the initial Asus logo for a minute and then restarts over and over. I've already tried pressing f8 and it does nothing so I cannot get anywhere to attempt to fix the problem. Unfortunately I do not have the Windows disk so I'm looking for a solution outside of having to buy another one and wiping the hard drive to reinstall. Please help.

    ASUS R503U - Windows 8 64-bit - 4 GB RAM - 500 GB HDD. I did not create a recovery disk as it was my girlfriends laptop I have just recently started using it before this happened. she doesn't know where she put the original discs for the computer

    OK, you'll need a recovery disk. Download from this link: https://db.tt/19FDGa5e
    1. Use Winrar or Winzip to extract the file to the root folder of a USB stick.
    2. Set your BIOS to boot from the USB stick. Or if you can display the Boot Menu, select to boot from this USB Stick.
    3. Once booted: US->Trouble Shoot->Advanced->Startup repair
    4. if it does not work, Boot it up again: US ->Trouble Shoot->Advanced->System Restore and select the most recent one.

    Hope this help and please post back your result. Good Luck !!!

    EDIT: If the above don't work, the third option would be to find out from the manufacturer website on your Laptop model which function key to use to recover Windows back to factory installed as it was when you first bought it and of course, you'll lose any data that you have in it.

    Well it seems as if none of this is going to work. I looked up the keys to get to the BIOS or to do a factory reset but no input has any effect whatsoever on the screen with the Asus logo and that's all you see before it restarts.

    Try ESC Key, just power on the laptop and keep tapping on ESC key to see if you can get the Boot Menu.

    I powered it on and kept pressing the button until it eventually restarted. I've tried this with esc, f2, alt+F2, tab, del. All on separate startups.

    Hmm, that is strange because that's what it suppose to do unless your keyboard is locked or defected and at this stage, I don't know what to tell you.
    Did you also try while holding the ALT key and Press on F2 when the ASUS Screen starts ?

    EDIT: Wait a minute, from the ASUS site, it says press F9 during boot up, not tapping it. Try that

    Yeah, I tried holding alt and pressing f2. I was also considering the fact that my keyboard might be defective for some reason. The last thing I did before all this started happening was run an antivirus program but it returned with no viruses found, then shortly after it shut off. I can't think of anything else to do, so I guess I'm just gonna have to take it somewhere. I really appreciate you trying to help though.
