I having been working on my PC for the last weeks and installing and reinstalling windows 8.1.1 almost every third day trying to solve some critical errors that brings my PC crashing or freezing. I was able to locate a bad RAM and dim slot.
Now I'm also running win8.1.1 on my new SSD 120 gb 840 evo.
Q? - I'm here cause I would like to learn on how to read and work on my errors that appear in my viewer logs.
Q? - I read here something about that SSD hast to be Ihcd mode (png shot)? is it to late for me to change or can someone point to the article for me to read.
My goal would be to run my PC without crashing or freezing on me. So, any help would be highly appreciated.
That would be AHCI mode for SSD, yes it's necessary for SSDs to work to their full potential. To change after windows is installed in other mode just Google " windows ahci registry" there's easy way to change mode.
For troubleshooting you can try this for the beginning Download BlueScreenView - MajorGeeks , it makes blue screen reading easier.
I followed the instruction but I don't see this under (regedit.exe)
2) Navigate to Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci
It looks good now. Did you change to AHCI ? It would be good to do that so Trim works and that's essential for SSD to work good without loosing performance over time.
As far as other disk is concerned, it would be good to be on the controller as far as possible from SSD. It does not even matter if it is on SATA2. Maybe you should check that HDD, if it is making troubles to the system.
YES, I did changed to AHCI and it does look good, but.
But, I'm still getting lots of freeze up with only my SSD running. I'm trying to find the problems, but when I get to view logs, sometimes it freezes and I need to restarted from the begging again.
I disconnected everything from my motherboard and I only have 1 ssd running and my DVDrom
At this very moment I'm on my laptop cause my PC is acting up again.
YES, I have my SSD updated,Windows 8.1.1 and my Bios and motherboard.
I had to reboot 3 times and I was able to disable these programs that you see here on my pix of Task Manager. As I was typing this message, it froze and I had to power up my laptop .
I also try to work in safemode with network and after 5 mins it froze again.
your computer is acting up with hdd installed I would take a stab in the dark and say your hard drive has a i/o error= input, output error this can cause your computer to slow boot or hang I have had 2 western digital hard drives that did this
Hmm, that could be, but I only have 1HDD Western Digital 2.OTB caviar and is relative new. I just disconnected all 3HDD and just left my new SSD 840 evo from Samsung and will reinstall 8.1.1 on a new install and then I will control to see why I'm I getting ALL this errors.
