Solved Using File History and USB Flash Drive

I've been using File History with an external HDD. I now want to use a USB Flash Drive instead. Although my computer shows the flash drive in the devices area, I can't get File History to see the flash drive and use it for back ups. I'm running Win 8.1, and the flash drive is a USB 3.0. Any ideas? Thanks.

Do you have a Windows 8 certified drive. If yes, it would show up in Computer under disak drives and not removable drives. If not, it will probably not work.

The flash drive shows up under Devices and Drives, along with the C drive, external HDD, and others. Any other thoughts?

I can drag and drop files from the C drive to the flash drive, I just can't get it to work with File History.

Right, it will work as a normal external storage drive, but not as a system drive. For that it has to be certified. Try a network drive. That is probably easier.
