Greetings.
As my PC is getting slow and tired, I want to try out "Refresh your PC without affecting your files", but it can't run.
When I try from inside Windows (settings, change PC settings, recovery, get started), it starts, but stops after 2-3 seconds writing "Could not find the recovery enviorement". Please insert your Windows or recovery media and restart your PC with the media.

Okay, I do that, it boots and I select repair at the bootmenu. I then select "Refresh your PC ect.". It the starts and write Refreshing 1% for about 5 seconds, then it stops and write "There is an error, so the refresment can't continue. Nothing has been changed".

I did a clean install with windows 8.1 Pro using the install key from this forum, and after that changed to my legal Windows 8 Pro key and activated it. The media I am trying to use now with the refresment is the same windows 8.1 Pro media.

Anybody with an idea or a clue to what I can do to refresh my PC without having to install Windows 8.1 Pro all over again?
I have to go to work on a long shift, so I can not try any solution the next 24 hours (I can read in this forum, if I need to give more info to you if you need it to help me) on my own PC.

I know my English is not good, but English is not my first language, I do hope you get the meaning though

TIA

I have a bootable usb stick with Windows 8 Pro and none of the recovery options seem to work for me. I don't know if they don't/refuse to recognize my usb stick but all that happens whenever I need them is I click on one of them on the boot recovery menu
and nothing happens, nothing! If I choose Advanced Options and then pick an option it takes me back to the main recovery menu.
What I've done this time, after reinstalling Windows 8.1 Pro was a USB Recovery Drive, which Microsoft themselves recommend doing on their site. It only took 256mb from my usb stick. So let's see what happens next time something goes wrong.
