Solved Close windows to prevent information loss error??

My computer keeps coming up with this error that looks like this.

Screenshot (2).png

Some times the error reads a bit different but it all does the same thing. I don't know what's wrong with it. I have had it for just under a year. It has done this at least 10 times. Every time I have to refresh the computer or take it back to default and I'm so sick of doing that. Is there a way to fix it. I am using a 64bit version of windows and have 8GB ram so it's not that. But it seems to be related to memory even though I have a lot of it there.

Please help. Thank you.

Also, sorry if this is in the wrong part of this site. I wasn't entirely sure where it belonged.

Hello Glyxz, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Here are a couple of things to check for this:

1) Is your hard drive low on free space? If so, then you will need to free up space for the page file.

2) Did you turn off the page file, or set the page file to be to low? Some programs require that you have a page file no matter how much RAM you have installed. It's recommended to leave the page file set to be managed by the system so that it will automatically be increased in size as needed.

Hope this helps, :)

I still have 375GB free of 445GB so I know it's not that. I have tried that other step before, it helped it for a little while, and then it did this same thing again so I had to refresh it again.

If you don't have the page file set to be managed by the system, then you'll need to manually increase it's size as needed whenever you get a low memory error.

I did what you said just before I last replied and I just received that message again. Is there anything else I can try?

Do you mean set to be managed by the system?

Is your page file on the C: drive that has plenty of free space?

I just followed what the instructions said on the link that you sent me. I unticked the box at the top for the advanced settings bit. There was 2 sets of instructions but I followed that once because the box was orginally ticked.

You would want to use step 12 in the tutorial. Go ahead and post a screenshot showing your page file settings to see what they are, and if there's anything that may need to be changed. :)

ok , brink said to make it 'system managed' , it looks by that screen that you still have it to set to be manually changed , your system is recommending 16 meg as minimum , but you have only 8 meg as lowest start value.

Which is why you keep getting that memory error dialog coming up.

Select the circle 'System Managed Size' instead of 'Custom Size' and press 'OK'
