Did you check registry settings? I'm curious because Windows is supposed to disable them if running on SSD. Although the service may have been running at idle.

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters
At least on my W8.0 that's the key.

That's no sweat. I delete those periodically. If I change my startup programs I might delete the ones in ReadyBoot folder underneath it. One slow boot and the ReadyBoot folder is repopulated. Also Prefetch doesn't take all that long to build back up. You may not even notice the difference like you do with ReadyBoot.

did you find Windows 8.1 faster with both disabled?

Your SSD is already fast enough by design.

Those tweaks are intended to extend the life of your SSD. Google "SSD Tweaks" for more information.

I understand. On or Off it's no big deal to delete the contents of those two folders. If On they will be regenerated. If Off you're not using them anyway.
