    Windows 8.1 very slow

    Hey guys!

Since i updated from windows 8 to windows 8.1 my laptop became much more slow, what can i do to make it as fast as it was when i had windows 8?

I've updated from the store, first time there was some kind of error and it came back to windows 8, after 2 weeks i tried again and the update was sucessfull. However i'm not happy with the performace.

My laptop is a 1 year old toshiba equipped with an i7 and a radeon hd 7670m graphics card so the problem doesn't come from the components.

I'm from Portugal, sorry if i spelled anything wrong

    Hi,
    _Download CCleaner from:CCleaner - Download
_Or you may run DiskCleanup from the serch box in windows 8.1 or 8.0

    Hi!

Thanks for the reply, but i already have done that and the performance didn't get better. I'm wondering if it can be from the drivers? If so, what is the best program to update all my drivers without having to do it manualy from the website of each pc component?

    Hi,
_Tell me what is the free space on your hard disk and how many programms are installed?
_Here is the most known driver programme updating software:Driver Easy - Auto Detect, Download, Backup, Restore & Uninstall Drivers
_and are you using Power Saving Plan you can change it by clicking the battery icon in your taskbar and change the power plan to high performance obut it will cost you alot off battery life.
    Rep Me if i helped

Well, I know it's a pain but I'd advise to gather the drivers from the manufacturer's website (assumed that Windows 8.1 drivers are officially released by the manufacturer of course) rather than getting them via an external software or via Windows update.

At least, that is what I learned (and I did it the hard way) while trying a Lenovo* for work, so your mileage may vary.

*Lenovo laptops/desktops seem not to go on well with Windows Update because of some of the software which comes preloaded on them, but it's a completely different story.
