PC not going to sleep after waking up for maintenance

I have set up scheduled maintenance on my laptop (on Windows 8.1) as:

I have also set up my laptop to go to sleep after an hour of inactivity:

So far, I have found my laptop not asleep everytime I wake up at around 7AM (two times in a row). Here are some "powercfg" outputs:

    What should I do?

Hello, sabrefresco. Welcome to Windows EightForums.

Did this machine come with 8.1 on it or did you upgrade?

    Is Samsung Magician.exe bloatware?

Instead of via the Action Center setting you may want to refer to this tutorial: Windows Defender Scheduled Scan - Set Up in Windows 8

It came with Windows 7, I purchased the Windows 8 upgrade and now I am no 8.1 (free update for all 8 users). It was a clean install for Windows 8, then upgraded to 8.1. Samsung Magician is my SSD monitoring, diagnostics and optimization software and is not a bloatware. How exactly will be scheduling maintenance through Task Scheduler? I don't know which exe or syntax to use.

My apology. I linked the wrong tutorial.

Do you manually put the laptop to sleep when you are finished for the day? I'm assuming so since it awakes.

OK. Not exactly "bloatware" in a sense, but a 3rd party program that may be conflicting with Windows maintenance so far as sleep is concerned anyway. Did this problem start to occur after you installed Samsung Magician or did you always have it? Not sure?

After rethinking this, let’s put that on the back burner. Are you up to date with updates, especially the last ones last week? Many members were having sleep problems that a particular update fixed for many. It did for me. Windows 8.1 refuses to sleep

Just for grins, you may want to look through this tutorial and please notice all the links to others pertaining to the subject at the end.

My laptop goes to sleep after closing the lid (so yes manually). To be honest, I started this scheduled maintenance recently, after I already had the Samsung Magician software installed. So can't tell if the Magician software is conflicting with either the Maintenance or sleep.

I am up-to-date (including the updates released on the second Tuesday of this month). Here's a screenshot of "powercfg -a" output:

Not sure what that means, I haven't fully gone throught the Sleep States page (reading it now).

The “system firmware is the BIOS or UEFI, whichever one it is. I have an older Acer tower with BIOS. We have the same OS version. Here’s my report:

I would reverse everything you did in the scheduled maintenance to see how that goes. Although theirs a timer set on mine, it never wakes for maintenance. Tasks are performed in the background while the PC is idle. I intentionally leave it to go do something if it's not too long (turning the monitor off) and find it busy virus scanning, defragging, and the likes when I return. 8/8.1 are pretty self-sufficient so far as that goes.

From what I understand, Fast Startup and Hybrid Sleep are disabled because Windows is on my SSD. I disabled hibernate to save up space on the SSD. The thing is, I want it to do maintenance and then go back to sleep after midnight when I am not even using it. I do see the maintenance going on here and there when I leave the for a few minutes, but it would be nice to have an uninterrupted session of maintenance.

Hello everyone, I get a BSOD when waking my Laptop out of sleep. I believe this doesn't happen on Win 8 with no updates applied. So I think it may be a Windows update or driver that is causing my BSODs. I do not believe its hardware related like a failing HDD. Though I could be wrong.
