ram problem?

i recenty bought a Leveno A730 with windows 8 preinstalled ,it has 8gb of ram ,but it says only 7.79 is useble
what could be causing this?

Hardware reserved. Normal usage. Forget about it and enjoy.

~2.6% of RAM size difference can never be felt, noticed or in any way realized on the machine anyhow, besides seeing actual numbers with your eyes.

Called "overhead" that nasty KB/Kb thing. A 1TB HDD is not really 1TB. Same with RAM. Mine shows this:

Yep, np. Probably dedicated to your onboard video adapter and possibly other hardware usage.
