You can boot it and take the Repair choices to get to a Command Prompt. If that much work then the rest if probably okay.

I gave it a try. I had to press FN and F12 at the same time to get to the boot list ?

    The USB was listed.

Clicked on it and it gave four choices: Exit go to 8.1; Use a USB drive; Troubleshoot; Turn off PC.
I clicked on Use a USB drive.

This gave four choices: EFI USB device; Lenovo Recovery system; EFI Network; EFI DVD/CDROM.
I clicked on EFI USB device. The light on the USB drive lite up and started to run.

This was as far as I trusted it to go. I do think it will work when I need it.

This is a look at what is on the USB :

Ztruker I sent you a PM earlier did you get it ?

That sounds good. I think you are home free. Let's hope you never have to use it though.

Sorry, I only saw the two screens I outlined in post #22.
I got to those by pressing the FN key and tapping the F12 key after doing a restart with the USB plugged in.

How do you get to the screens you are showing ? Do you have Win 8.1 as I do ?

    1. Insert the USB Recovery media into an available USB port.
    2. Restart or turn on the Lenovo and select F12 (interactive Boot menu) at the Lenovo Logo.

Yes, these are the exact screens I saw. I forgot about the second one, for the keyboard though.

Then it gave four choices when I clicked on use a USB drive : EFI USB device; Lenovo Recovery system; EFI Network; EFI DVD/CDROM.
I clicked on EFI USB device. The light on the USB drive lite up and started to run.
