Hey I'm using a sony vaio laptop E-Series and few days back I updated it to windows 8.1 and after few days it started to hang a lot so I tried to look for my Quick Heal Internet Security 2013 so that I can search for virus but later the system showed that it doesn't supports on windows 8.1 so I downloaded the new antivirus and activated the product and when the anti virus was updating itself the system got stuck. When I turn on my pc it gets stuck within 2-3 minutes I don't want to go to some service center or rubbish. Please help me out with this ASAP!!!!

Well it sounds like your system doesn't like Quick heal or you already have a Virus that is preventing you from updating. You might want to uninstall it and try another brand known to be 8.1 compatible like (NIS) Norton Internet security. Seems to me they have an online scanner you can use to try and stop any virus you might have caught. Sorry I can't help you with Quick Heal this is the first time I've ever heard it. You might want to check out their tech support or support forum?

Try booting into Safe mode perhaps you can stop the update from there?

You should boot first in "Safe Mode" to see if your PC continues to give you those issues, if it stops you maybe have one of these issues:
- Maybe they're too many services/apps running at the same time (probably on startup).
- Maybe some app/driver you installed using "Compatibility Mode" is running on the background at startup (that will affect system stability for sure).
- Some app/service you're running have very poor coding (or lack of support on Win 8.1) is causing those hangs.
- Or actually maybe you do have a virus/malware on your PC and is the cause of those issues.

If you can boot normally on Safe Mode, maybe the issue can be repaired, but if it doesn't work well; you have to consider "Refreshing" your PC or restoring your PC using System Restore. Hope this helps! :)
