Getting 100% Disk Usage Spikes On Windows 8

I have been trying to fix this issue for two days now. I did a fresh install of windows 8 twice and the problem still persists. I think I have tried every solution offered by google so far and I am at my wits end. It causes freezing in video games and I just want to play all these cool games I bought on steam, not to mention browse the internet without freezing. Please people of eightforums.com I ask... no, I beg for your help!

Did you run a diagnostic on the HD? It could be a hardware issue.

Thank you for replying! I really do appreciate it. I just finished a diagnostic scan on the HD and it found nothing.

When you look in Task Manager do you see processes hogging the CPU? One thing I noticed back when I first got Vista was that there were processes opening every user file on my system. One was mobsync.exe. It seems its job was to find media files for WMP. But it was overzealous. Anything like that stand out?

Also at some point System Specs will be helpful.

Please do not use task manager for system resource issues, use resource monitor - in this case, use the disk tab there, in particular. It gives far more information about resource usage than task manager.

If it's mobsync.exe it's not hard to find. Likewise explorer opening every file to see if it's been modified. Speaking of which, is there software running on the machine that touts automatically detecting folder change? Like maybe one of the Mega type cloud storage apps? I tried one of those and my Laptop's performance took a nosedive.

The CPU usage is fine, the only thing spiking is disk usage. It does this on resource monitor aswell. I don't have anything running called mob sync. This problem will show up even after a fresh install of windows 8.

I understand. Anything using 100% of your disk is likely using at least a few % of CPU. Please post a screen shot of Task Manager sorted by CPU usage with highest at the top. I might recognize something. It's worth a shot as we have to start somewhere.
