No System Restore Points

  1. #11

My worse case scenario as a Computer tech, is to get a service call, that I know can be solved quickly and easily by a System Restore, and then I get to the PC in question and I find that some Dolt has turned off System Restore! Argggggh!

I not only have System Restore turned ON, on every one of my own PC's, but I run a GREAT Little script in my Startup folder to force a new restore point, every time I boot up the computer. Old Restore Points eventually drop off into the ol' bit bucket, but if they don't I delete all of them anyway, when I do my weekly C drive backup. (to save valuable space in my backup Image Files.)

System Restore can be your best friend, so make sure it's turned ON and working.

    Happy New Year Everyone!

Oh, by the way,,,,,,,, one of the first signs that you may have been Hacked or Infected by some Trojan or Virus is that the System Restore function has been disabled. Viruses don't like you being able to use System Restore to get rid of them. Eh?

Solved No System Restore points in Performance & Maintenance
I've been running Windows 8 since 10/27 and just noticed there were no System Restore points. Doesn't Windows 8 automatically create them when a significant event occurs, like Windows Update? I created one manually but would like to see Win 8 create them.
