Solved Downloading 8.1 doesn work

I keep getting a message to download 8.1 but I click to d/l and it tells me I can keep on working and it will let me know what to do next..... nothing happens. Tried twice.

Try going to Windows Store.

It may be starting in the background.
I also read somewhere of machines failing to update because Windows Standalone installer was missing.?!?!?!

I was instructed by the message to get it in "the store" on my computer. I'll try the link above. Thanks. PS Is 8.1 any good?

I downloaded it and it has slowed down my computer. Everything takes forever to open and close. I hate it.
