hi everyone

My Auslogic defragment programme tells me that I have problems with my registry and a lot of junk files.

can anyone tell me about AUSLOGICS BOOST SPEED software.
Is this programme worth using, and is it safe to use.

regards calmat

This is a good program if you understand what you ask it to do. Very little support options, mainly only a FAQ on the site. CCleaner and Glary's Utilities are two free programs that you can compare to Auslogics Boost Speed. :geek:

Don´t use CCleaner is just junk and it removes a lot of plugins that u need to reinstall like flash player and java, Glary's Utilities is better than auslogics and ccleaner

That's baloney! I've used and am still using CCleaner and it works fine, never caused me any problem with the registry nor did it delete files or folders I need.

Got some proof? I'd like to see it.

I totally agree with Ztrucker!
Used CCleaner for over 3 years and not a single problem with my Registry.
I also use SAS, MBAM along with it and every 2-3 weeks I run all of them to keep things neat and clean.

I'm still not convinced third party registry cleaners do anything.

Well doing nothing is better than breaking things :)

No, even if the registry was massively bloated there would be little impact on the performance of anything other than exhaustive searches.
I haven't and never will implement a Registry cleaner since it's of little practical use on anything other than Win2K terminal servers and developing one that's both safe and effective requires a huge amount of application-specific knowledge.

Just for fun of it I just tried latest CC on my computer. After a year of heavy traffic and update to 8.1 it found only about 10 "wrong" things in registry so I guess impact is close to nil. On the other hand, I use Revo Uninstaller so leftovers are minimal.
