Anyway to use wireless keyboard to turn on laptop?

Hi, I have an Asus laptop running Windows 8.1. I have an hdmi cable connected to my tv with a wireless logitech keyboard and mouse. Is there anyway to turn the laptop without opening the lid by using the keyboard? I have searched and people suggested getting some external button which I am not looking for while others suggest hibernating the laptop which is also not an option as I use it only few times a week.

If there's an option in the BIOS to turn it on by keyboard like on desktops, it might be worth a shot.

    Hi there/

I think you are out of luck here as the Power on function is done by a mechanical hardware switch - I don't know any USB function that can mechanically press the power on button.

There are various ways though to REBOOT a computer remotely - especially if you can arrange for the computer boot device to be a Network card.

I can't see what the problem is though in either hibernating (power use is minimal) or just switching it on when you need it - especially if it's only a few times a week. Boot time on W8.1 is minimal even WITHOUT using an SSD.

So I'm wondering if it's possible to turn my Lumia 902 (windows 8 phone) into a wireless mic. I would plug in a headset mic, transfer it vie bluetooth (or maybe wireless?) to either my windows laptop, or to my android tablet, which would have speakers plugged in, to make my voice louder. ...
