Hi

Windows 8.1 all working fine, but when I hibernate it then resumes again seconds later for no apparent reason

Tried powercfg /lastwake but it is not telling me what caused it to wake

Any ideas as to what I can do to stop this?

Do you have any led mice/keyboards? Those tend to make the computer wake up, could also be a webcam.

yes my mouse is - but have gone into device manager and set it so that device doesn't wake up my PC - and surely if it was that then powercfg /lastwake should tell me?

Thanks for reply though

sorry should of said - done network adapter too

running powercfg -devicequery wake_armed shows NONE - so Windows doesn't think any of my devices are enabled to wake the PC

Test by having all devices (ex: USB) unplugged from the computer to see if one of them may be waking it back up.

have just reinstalled my PC from scratch to fix a different issue - and still I have the hibernate problem

The problem isn't that it just wakes up from hibernate, it is more like it is restarting instead of hibernating, as it doesn't just resume, as when it comes back on all apps/windows are closed

If you like as a test, use the tutorial below to add "AHCI Link Power Management - HIPM/DIPM" to your power plan options, then set it to HIPM+DIPM to see if it may help. It helped for my PC's restarting when resuming from sleep issue, and hopefully it may for you as well with your resume from hibernate issue.

Problem solved - was caused by Samsung Magician software for my SSD - they have just released v4.3 which fixes hibernate/sleep waking up on its own issue in Windows 8.1
