hello, i had a lot of problems with computers but this is new

my windows 8 freezes very often doing regular things like using media software, ms word, chrome internet browser etc... i can move my mouse, but thats about it.

since some time ago, my windows 8 kept freezing so i had it re installed but still freezes a lot.
what happens is:

- lets say i am playing an audio. it loops like 5 sec of the audio before the computer froze until the comp unfreezes(same with videos with video frozen and only audio looping).

- at first it seems as though only one software is frozen; like ms word, itunes or chrome etc... but lets say if itunes froze and if i try to use chrome, i can't open any pages(although internet is fine) until the computer unfreezes, toolbar seems ok until i click it and it crashes and restarts when the comp unfreezes.

- so although i am allowed to click other applications, but they dont work until the whole computer unfreezes.

-this happens a lot, it just happened.

-sometimes, it gets so bad and the computer crash and show me an error message saying some(different every time) microsoft services crashed and that it has to restart.

I do not know what is wrong. it persists and i have tried scannow thingy, cdk dsk, and everything is up to date etc...

my comp is dell inspiron 7720 17", 8gb ram, ddr5, hdd drive, gt 650m,

is it my hard drive that is faulty?

also, I found that trying to go through directories via web browsers, for example when trying to upload something or trying to print from adobe or ms word, the whole computer freezes and I have to end process.

in taskmanager, it says disk when nothing is using more than 0.1 Mb/s

Check hard disk s.m.a.r.t. status with Crystal Disk Info, see if it is under warning or danger status?

I can't upload for the reasons stated above...

health status : caution
- everything is blue except "Current Pending Sector Count" which is yellow
it says current "92", worst "92" threshold "0" raw value "0000000000593"

on the other point, is it normal that all of attributes has same current and worst values?

The computer is new right, did you buy it from a retail store?

If yes, can you still take it back for a replacement exchange at the store you bought from?

Run sfc /scannow, but from what you've said, I believe your hard drive is dying...

If that is a new system, take it back to the store and make them plug it in and show them that.

You may be able to get more life out of it, buy running a full hard disk scan, you can use one of the tools on Hiren's Boot CD, You boot to that, and go into Dos Programs, Hard Drive Tools, and find your make of hard drive, use the tool to check the status. Link to Hiren's is below.

If it finds errors, then use the full surface scan. If you have a WD or Seagate hard drive, you can use GWscan, which is a gateway tool for detecting errors, WD uses it now too. The full surface scan will take about an hour on new PCs.

If your SMART error is serious, then GWscan will be prevented from running, if that is the case buy a new HD NOW, not tomorrow.

How old is the system, even when new HDs go out sometimes and have to be replaced - If you have a warranty still in effect this will be taken care of by the warranty.
