Scanning and repairing volume (\\?\Volume...) on startup

    Hello Guys,
this is my first post on eightforums,
i recently got a new laptop "asus vivobook" that came preloaded with windows 8.
The laptop comes with a hybrid 24 GB ssd (8GB of those are for the system files, windows 8 is installed on,the remaining are in a 2nd partition for recovery)
i deleted the recovery partition and made a recovery on an 8 GB usb drive, because im dual booting a different linux os alongside windows.
I used rEFInd boot manager to boot the 2 operating systems, everything boot and works fine.
However, since the dual booting started i noticed that the windows 8 loading time has became a bit slower, when i choose to sart windows 8 the asus logo appears and under it this message
"Scanning and repairing volume (\\?\Volume{...large hex identifier..}): 100% Complete"
it stays for 2,3 seconds and then windows 8 start,i ran a chkdsk for the c drive, but that didnt solve the problem.
Is there any way to fix this issue,
    Thanks.

The problem you are seeing could be caused by the Win8 "fastboot" feature. Disable fastboot and see if that fixes the problem. It can occur on dual boot and other multi partition configurations.

If you copy the partition identifier, including all the designation and paste it into a run command, it will open that partition in Explorer. That would tell you which one it was, since it probably does not have a mount point.

If you installed Linux, did you use a UEFI and Windows 8 Secure Boot capable version?

Greier, did you follow the instructions and find out which partition is involved?

Are you running more than one OS and have you also made changes to your original configuration as the OP had done?

hey guys i`m back...with a good news: i fixed the problem!
at the beginning i had 5 partitions, and i deleted them all, but still they were not erased, only the data was deleted.
after having installed Windows, a new partition appeared, besides the others i had ((CWindows and (D Data); this new partition only had 900 Mb; so i removed all the partitions i did not need and added the unpartitioned space to the D partition using computer management/data management. below you can find the link with more explanations. hope it helps others too. have a good day! greier out
