    Like I said, let it run overnight, see if it finishes. I know it's boring and annoying but sometimes you have to put up with it.

    Alternative is to cancel it then do a quick scan.

    Just to be clear. You started the AVG scan. Then it hung. Then you uninstalled it. And now you can't boot? Is that correct? If so, can you get to a boot menu on startup?
