@ All - My question seems unanswered. Using WinPE how do you create a Macrium recovery?
I have Theog's suggestion but Macrium's help does not seem to do that. They want to use the disc. I wish I knew of someone with Macrium who successfully used the Win PE recovery disc without a work around.
    I use Macrium Standard Edition.
    It works good.
Here are some tutorial pictures I made:

    Very easy to use.
A 64 GB usb drive should suffice.

To restore the image insert the usb & restart & choose Macrium from the 2 options & let it work till it is done.
    Simple.

I think your terminology is sort of backwards. Now, referring specifcally to Macrium Reflect Free:

Start Macrium Free in the Windows Environment
Select Other Tasks> Create Rescue Media (top menu)
    Follow instructions...

I forgot to mention that the above will allow you to choose to create either a WinPe or Linux rescue disk. However, since I have had problems with the WinPe version, I might just try out the Linux version. Please be aware that the WinPe version requires a huge download (automatically from Microsoft) and it will take quite a bit of time to get thru the WinPe rescue disc creation process. Now, since I only do "full image restorals", I might just switch to the Linux version and see what happens. Good luck and thank you.

Please see here and notice it says to inset disc then power up not restart. Maybe you need to do as you were from the beginning but omit the restart and just power up.
    It is only a suggestion.
Linux has never failed me but I made a Win PE thinking ahead to UEFI Win 8.1

@David - Which of the 2 discs do you use? I use the Linux disc and it has not failed me in over 20 recoveries. I was curious about the WinPE disc with the advent of UEFI and Win 8.1 etc

    @Peter2,

I just wanted to say thank you for helping me resolve my own issue (which I described previously). I discovered the fix when I decided to test the Linux Recovery CD instead of using the WinPe disc I have been using. And, lo and behold, I received thisi warning right after the creation of same:

"Completely Power Off Your PC Before Attempting to Boot With This CD"

So, since I never noticed that warning before, I always assumed that a reboot would do the trick. Not so apparently.

    Thanks again and good luck.

I use WinPE on a 64 GB USB drive.
In fact I just completed making an image of all local drives.
Only took 2 & half hours this time.

I really don't know what you mean by "2 discs".
I just plug in the usb drive & proceed with making the image.

The usb should be given a Quick Format before using it.

@2cents -I am happy for you. It says power off and you should . I am lucky that with the Linux I can just reboot but will begin to follow instructions to avoid trouble.
