Solved System restore

I am receiving this error from system restore when trying to make restore points.I recently added a new hard drive.I am sure it was working for a few days after i added thenew hard drive,because as programs were added it made restore points.Plus i made some manual ones since.Now i receive this: The restore point could not be created for the following reason: The request could not be performed because of an I/0 device error (0x8007045d) Please try again.

It is a good idea when adding a new drive to your PC to run chkdsk:
I suggest:

1. from the elevated command prompt, type chkdsk c: /f /r
2. Do the same for the other drive
3. again from the elevated command prompt, type:
   dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
4. then run: sfc /scannow
5. Now try to create System Restore again

Note: Chkdsk will take a while to run so please be patient.

i ran a chkdsk /r could not figure how to copy it from powershell to post here.I will try what you said too.Just wanted to know how to post it.so you can see it.But i still get the error.

Thanks Topgundcp it worked. Originally i moved my older drive to a secondary and used the new one for my c: drive.I ran check disk on c: first took awhile.Before i read your response i had tried shutting off system restore on D: drive and it worked. I did the Deployment image servicing and management tool on C: it said this - the restore operation completed successfully.the component store corruption was repaired the operation completed successfully.Then i ran scan disk.Then i ran check disk on d: drive but it took like 6hrs. found errors then ran DMT.Tried system restore it works fine.If there is anything else let me know,thank you again.
