A popular thread over at Windows 7 Forums, I thought I'd bring it over here to see what we're getting with the Windows 8 OS.

Here's mine, using the default settings:

The benchmark I've used is ATTO 2.47, available from

Is this a "whose is bigger" thing? I wish I could afford a big ole fast nasty one! Sadly, I'd have to settle for a tiny, slow one.

Wanted to add that hopefully I'll live to see the day when HDD's are totally replaced by SSD's and just as cheap. A matter of time is all.

Yes Crystal Disc Mark test is optimum.
You have a quite good result. I am impress a notebook can give this result.

When you post SSD results I suggest you say which make/model you are measuring.

Here is one of mine. The only number I am really interested in is the 4K number.

    Here's some of my benchmarks.

I'm very happy with my Samsung 840 EVO. Granted I went from a horrendous 5400RPM drive! My benchmarks don't seem quite as high as most of yours but I'm pretty content!

Don't worry about the benchmarks. They don't mean much in real life. They are only good to find out whether there is something really terribly wrong - e.g. misalignment. But yours looks like a nice SSD.
