Solved stress test application

Hello,

does anyone know of or can recommend a stress test application.

reason for asking.
installed new motherboard to desktop computer and it drops out occasionally. see http://www.eightforums.com/installa...ard-windows-8-resets-randomly.html#post279142 for details of issue.

I want to run some tests before looking at new purchase of windows 8 OEM.

The issue seems to be when running games (high res) so maybe issue with GPU or processor.

I would suspect a possible GPU issue right off the bat because of the gaming issue. With that said, I would start off by downloading GPU-Z and monitoring my idle and gaming temperatures to see in any issue arise in that area:



Just download and run. Right click anywhere on the GPU-Z screen and select "always on top" when running. If you notice a high temp condition, maybe start off with a general cleaning but I would avoid any stress-testing software at this point to avoid permanent damage.

Success with the PC Mark 7 test without the GPU installed.

Faulty GPU
Faulty motherboard.
