Solved Sleep without Signing Off

New to this OS --- is there a way to avoid signing off when PC sleeps?

Hmm...still have "problem"

I know I marked this as "solved," but I can't seem to fix the problem. I am the only user and have Administrator privileges; I tried all the methods; the options all show "no password required on wakeup" (or whatever the precise language is...) yet after the last keystroke is made, the PC dives into sleep mode within a very few minutes and ALWAYS requires a password after one clicks on the Lock Screen. Is it somehow related to the Lock Screen???

No worries. Locking the PC is not related to wake up. When you lock the PC, it's normal (by design) to have to sign in to unlock the PC.

Waking up is only after the computer has been put to sleep instead. Did you get this part sorted to no longer need to sign in when the PC wakes up from sleep?

I may be having some terminology difficulties. A few minutes after a key or mouse input, the screen saver appears. If I make an input within a minute or two of the appearance of the screen saver, I am back to the screen I left without any intervening screens or actions. HOWEVER, if I wait more than a minute or two after the appearance of the screen saver, when I move the mouse or hit a key, I am presented with the lock screen. A mouse click to that gets me to sign in.

Perhaps the PC is really not "sleeping" at that point and I am working the wrong problem. What I want to happen is that once I hit a key or click the mouse when viewing the screen saver, I am immediately returned to the screen and apps I left --- no lock screen, no sign in. In other words, just like Windows 7 operated (I guess).

Ah, ok.

It sounds like you need to disable screen saver password protection instead.
