    I want this disabled!
There are no references to this in any of the 'Run' registry entries and I don't see a Service for this either.
Anyone have an idea how to prevent this annoying piece of garbage from recurring?

    A question or two.

How do you know they are running at start up ?
Do they show up in Task Manager or what ?

Do you have CCleaner installed ?

I have the latest Flash installed & I do not have FPU's running at start up.
Do you have the latest Flash installed ?

You can go here to find out :

    https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Here is a link to the Flash forums:

    Adobe Community: Home

An answer may come quicker from there.

    EDIT--

Do you see Flash in Add/Remove Programs ?

Maybe if you uninstalled it & reinstalled it, it would help...

    I have used Firefox.
But, doesn't some video content require Flash even with Firefox?

Yes but you would have to enable Flash via an add-on; otherwise, it would not be able to play those videos.

    Cheers!

I don't believe they actually start at system startup.
But periodically If I check Task Manager there it is doing something.
    No, I don't use ccleaner.

    Sorry about the delay.
So, if I install Firefox then, Adobe Flash utility would not run?
I assume that some videos on the internet would require Adobe Flash player regardless of which browser one uses?

You only see this if you install the flash plugin for use with Firefox and other browsers. It has nothing to do with IE

Flash Util: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\FlashUJtil_ActiveX.exe does not run at startup.

    1. If you open IE, FlashUtil_ActiveX.exe will be invoked in order to display any flash files on the page.
    2. Terminated when you close IE.

Flash player for IE is updated via Windows Updates (KB2770041) as an Activex.

For Firefox and other browsers, you need to download from adobe then install the flash plugin
