    Strange memory behavior

hei guys . so i have an Asus X54C laptop. I had Windows 8 installed on it. Everything worked good until i started to get BSODs about Memory Management and two more errors related to memory too. After a few tryes i finally installed Windows 7 because the computer kept restarting. ( i installed windows 7 because i've had troubles in the past with windows 8 ) .WHen the instalation was done the computer still kept restarting so I thought that i have some bad RAM or something and i was planning to send it in service..but the next day everything worked good..no errors..no BSODs..no more restarts. I also took a memory test with the Windows7 implemented program and everything was good. Could the problems be related to windows 8 ?

I wouldn't worry about using it unless sfc found errors it couldn't fix.

If you do ever use it in Administrator command prompt use:

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    Pretty healthy.
You could run error checking in C:\ Properties just for the heck of it.

    And defragment too.

Hello all. New member here. I have had an issue with my PC since I "upgraded" to windows 8.1 earlier this year that is driving me batty. Unfortunately, I upgraded the hardware (motherboard, CPU, and RAM) at the same time, so I can't rule out a hardware issue completely. The issue stuck around...
I've been looking at the Surface Pro and other tablet/laptop convertible machines fitted with Win 8. The top-end models usually offer only flash memory in stead of a hard drive. The standard 128 GB flash memory available seems hopelessly inadequate for storing Win 8, a full range of programs and a...
Hello, I've got a really strange problem and maybe somebody here is able to help me with it. I use a Lenovo W530 with a clean install of Windows 8 Pro 64. Every time a put the laptop to sleep and then wake it up, the following problems occur: All currently open windows are minimized. When...
Dear members, Win 8 shows a strange behavior when I copy/move a folder with content (files or other folders) to my networkdisk. Only the folder is copied not the content (files and/or another folder). Copying a folder with content from my networkdisk to internal harddisk is working well. Also...
After my new build froze up during boot up into Windows 8, I tried to run Windows 8's built-in Windows Memory Diagnostic, extended setting, but it got stuck at 21% of 1st pass (10% overall) after running it overnight (at least 12 hours). I had 4x4GB memory modules, and re-ran this test with only...

Very strange boot behavior in General Support
On my laptop (i5, Vertex2 SSD) I installed Win8 in double boot. But now I have a very strange boot behavior. 1. The BIOS phase is a LOT longer than when I had only Win7. It takes ages before I get to the light blue screen where I can select the OS 2. When I select Win8, it boots instantly....
