Physical Memory CPU Utilisation not reaching above 30%

    Hi guys,

No matter what I try to do normally my physical memory usage never seems to exceed 31% even if I'm doing something that means the processor is flat-out. However, I gave the system stressing tool 'HeavyLoad' a whirl and it did deplete all the memory (eventually) whether that's any help, but in terms of whether I'm watching 5 HD videos or working on Photoshop it just will not budge. Any ideas?

To help find attached resource monitor screenshot and task manager screenshot taken after the PassMark benchmark software memory test has been run.

is this a good thing or a bad thing?

does your system seem to be running slow?

Do understand that the memory gauge does not account for full memory usage. It was never intended that it would. All memory that is not labeled as Free is in use for something. Also understand that there is no relationship between CPU usage and memory usage.

It's running horrendously slow! It's shocking if I'm honest, perhaps I should've mentioned this before aha!

Many thanks for your reply, I realised this shortly after posting and thought I had amended the post and title to reflect this, but apparently not. But do you not agree that if I'm performing a resource heavy task in photoshop for example that both CPU and memory utilisation should increase?
