    Hard drive not working

Having had PC World remove W8 and install my W7 system everything was working fine, then stupid me goes and sends a query to Samsung as to why "Recovery Solution 5" appeared to be missing and was it anything to do with downgrading to W7.In one of the paragraphs of the reply I was advised to tap F4 key while booting and that would show whether it was available or not.Like a stupid clod I followed this pearl of wisdom and now the computer refuses to open up.All I can gain access to is the BIOS system.Spent best part of an hour on the phone with a Samsung advisor but to no avail. Can anybody help get me working again because Samsung have implied they will charge for any repairs.

If your OEM manufacturer PC came with Windows 8 core, you are not licenced to use any OEM manufacturer Windows 7 software, as you have NO downgrade rights.

Windows 8 Core has NO OEM manufacturer downgrade rights.

To use the OEM manufacturer Recovery Software, you would need to install Windows 7 with the Windows 7 downgrade rights DVD.

Instead of using the Windows 8 Pro software, you may use one of the following earlier versions: Windows 7 Professional or Windows Vista Business.

This agreement applies to your use of the earlier versions. If the earlier version includes different components, any terms for those components in the agreement that come with the earlier version apply to your use of such components. Neither the manufacturer or installer, nor Microsoft, is obligated to supply earlier versions to you. You must obtain the earlier version separately. At any time, you may replace an earlier version with Windows 8 Pro. To enable downgrade on this computer to Windows 7, you must change the settings to boot into legacy BIOS mode. If the BIOS setting is not changed back to native UEFI mode boot prior to installing Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 Pro will install; however, the following Windows 8 Pro functionalities will not work as they rely on UEFI mode boot:
OEM manufacturer to supply downgrade rights Vista/Win7 Install DVD's.

Are you booting the Windows 7 x64 DVD in UEFI mode or Legacy mode?

Tried both ways but no response. What troubles me is that the hard drive indicator light on the front of the computer tries to come on when pressing the power on button, then fades out.Spent nearly an hour on the phone with the Samsung rep. and he talked me through quite a few things, but nana.

OK, so what happened when you pressed F4? What was displayed on the screen? Did you do anything while on that screen? What happens now when you try to boot up without pressing any key? Do you get any error messages etc on screen? Is the BIOS boot order set correctly? What happens if you press F4 now

When I pressed F4 on booting up the screen was lit but went blank.Contacted Samsung again by phone and was talked through several methods for the best part of an hour, all to no avail. The only thing that works now is that I can boot into the Bios system and nothing else.Of the four indicator lights on the front of the computer the light for the hard drive trys to come on when the power button is pressed but then goes out and stays out plus the wireless Lan light does not come on at all.Am I right in assuming the hdd could be damaged?.
