    sfc

    I have Win 8 x 64.
When I run, as admin, sfc /scannow, it ends up saying it is 100% complete. I thought it used to say no it found no integrity violations or something to that effect.
This applies to both the desktop and laptop.
Has sfc it changed in Win 8 or do I have a problem with both pcs?
    Thank you

Give it a bit of time to finish.
    It isn't done yet.

    Hello Peter,

The SFC \SCANNOW command is the same in Windows 8.

It says the same "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." under the "Verification 100% complete" when no issues were found.

It's most likely not finished running yet.

You might check your logs to see what it says.

You must be right because when I try to run it again it says a repair or something is taking place.
    Thank you

Sometimes when it says a repair is taking place it will eventually, sooner or later, say you need to reboot.
    Not always...

After it is finally done, run :

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

in Administrator command prompt & when it finishes REBOOT.

    Then run sfc /scannow AGAIN.

    Trust me.

I will let it complete. I don't know much about logs and all so will be back when it is done.

    Glad it's ok now.

I just backed up my entire C:\ drive yesterday.
    Backups are good.
    Thanks for posting back.
