My Windows 8 boots very slowly

Hi. I need some help. My Windows 8 boots very slowly. From bios to loading screen, around 30 seconds, from loading screen to desktop (skipping metro aps with start 8 program) aroun 35 seconds. All in all, 65 seconds from BIOS to desktop, and 15 second to full responsiveness of windows, that is around 80 seconds, and that is too long. I disabled most of starting programs in msconfig, put no GUI boot, enabled all cores and memory, disabled all Microsoft services. No luck. Then I found your tutorial, and I did step one, I enabled quick boot. But loading time is the same, whether I restart or shutdown the computer. Pls help if u have any suggestions. Thanks.

Also you may want to test your hard drive as well. Even if your computer is new there is always that possibility that it could have gone bad

    Windows 8 & Windows 7 Dual Boot

Disconnect all usb devices and see if your bootup is faster.

You can reconnect them one by one until your boot slows again..

web cams and network discovery can slow your system boot..

Are you connected to a local network, you may want to connect manually vs automatically..

Start with your internet disconnected see if that makes a difference...

Hej zemljak, Download Boot Racer program, install it and it will tell you which program or process is taking longest. Also in the Task Manager, under Startup, in Startup Impact column it will tell which one has most impact during the boot. You can also disable all the startup items and see what happens. That's all in the addition of turning of internet connection during boot time like man said, turning off automatic updates might help too.

    fala brte
Updates are disabled. Ill try that. Is there any significant difference between Windows 8 basic and pro version?

Kada resetujem, sve bude normalno. Nikakvih drugih problema nije bilo. Čudan neki problem i očito nije do windowsa. Da nije to možda zbog tog starijeg harda? Možda zato i sporije butuje.
