    Disk operations question

    System = Win 8 Pro-64, 4 X 60 GB, RAID 10 (300 GB), AMD Quad, 8 GB RAM.

    I upgraded from XP-32 To Win 8 Pro-64. My RAID drive "C:" had ~60 GB on it with XP. After the move to Win 8 Pro, C: had ~70 GB. After running Win 8 for about 1-1/2 months drive C: is suddenly almost full. 4.5 GB free space. Now I'm getting weird errors and an occasional disk full notice.

    What happened?

    Try TreeSize Free, see what it tells you about disk usage.

    Your disk done filled up!

    There's a tool I like to recommend that gives a visual map of what's occupying your storage facilities.

    WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics

    Give it a whirl and see what it comes up with. Attaching a screenshot is always nice, too.

    With this tool, I was able to figure out that GoogleEarth was taking 235 GB of my 300 GB drive. Thanks!

    A real-life example of downloading the whole Earth, I guess...

    Good to hear it's fixed.
