Solved Disabling charms bar

I have a real problem with the Charms bar in Windows 8 constantly popping up when I move the cursor from right to left across the screen. I use the touch-pad and cursor constantly, so the continual appearance of the charms bar and clock is disrupting to the extent that I am finding this operating system virtually unusable for my purposes. I have read a lot of posts on the net telling me how to turn off the hot corners, which I have done, and how to install software such as Start 8 to give me a Windows 7 style menu. All of these things have worked well, but the one thing I cannot seem to do is stop the bar and clock appearing every time I move the cursor from right to left. All I want is to be able to move my cursor around the screen without triggering this.

Can anyone help me, or have I no option other than to remove Windows 8 and install Windows 7?

Thanks for replying. This will sound stupid, but what systems information do you need? I am using a Lenovo laptop with intel i3 processor. It came with Windows 8 pre-installed, so its not the pro version. If you tell me what else you need to know, I should be able to find it.

I did try to follow some instructions about going into the mouse section in the control panel, but either I did not follow the instructions correctly or it did not work. Is there a separate section for the touchpad, or do I find this with mouse controls?

Many thanks

It's easier to help if you fill "my system specs", if you double click your touchpad icon in the taskbar(pic1) you'll get the control panel for your Touchpad, click settings and adjust tap zone preferences. I don't know whether you have Synaptics, Alps or Elantech Touchpad but same method for all, you can check which Touchpad is in your laptop by going to Device manager ( check in Pointing device).

Thanks very much for your help. I went into the menu in control panels as described above, and edge swipe. That finally appears to have solved the problem, despite a wealth of other forums stating that it was not possible. Once again, thank you very much.
