Hello! I just installed and am running Windows 8 on a recently purchased Sager NP8690. While running Windows 7, CPU idle temps were typically 45-50c and while rendering video or in game it'd peak at 75c. After installing 8, in a clean install, I'm seeing temps idling at 55-60c, and peaking at 95c while rendering video or playing a game.
My question is, could this be related to the OS utilizing the CPU in a way I'm not familiar with, or is it not reading temps correctly from the motherboard? A few places I've checked, other users have experienced the same problem, and claim a lack of Win8 compatibility with motherboard BIOS. This seems possible to me, as I'm still using the stock BIOS, but I was wondering if there were any other known cases of this?
