Task Manager delete old restore point

Considering the issue with Win8 restore points getting deleted, I decided to use Task Manager to create a new one weekly. The problem is that if I do not boot into another partition or manually delete the old restore point, they are going to pile up. Is there a way in Task Manager to delete the old restore point before creating a new one? thanks....

I am trying to do this automatically and apparently Task Scheduler does not work to even create a restore point. I am now looking for a 3rd party product.

I do what is shown in the picture.
I leave only enough room for 1 restore point.

Yes, the fact that you wanted to do it "automatically" was implied so I apologize for not making that assumption; however, your quest for a 3rd party product was never mentioned and that should have been included in your opening statement. Good luck.

I guess I will lower the size of the storage location and I did find a 3rd party scheduler. I still have a problem in that there does not seem to be a way to run/create a restore point manually without using "System Protection". I found %windir%\system32\srtasks.exe ExecuteScheduledSPPCreation" and it worked the first time I ran it, but now it does not. Some googling said that it only works once a week. Any more info????

You could set it to run at startup:
Change it from Once to Daily.

Yes I saw the "At Startup" when trying to get it working. I got to playing with Task Mgr and at one point I deleted "System Restore" settings and I don't know if I messed up when I recreated them. I have tried to run the "%windir%\system32\srtasks.exe ExecuteScheduledSPPCreation" manually and it only worked the one time and leaves me with a bad feeling.
