Lock Brightness settings?

Well, I have installed Windows 8 on my laptop, but was wondering if there is a way to lock the screen brightness.
The reason being is that family members constantly mess with the brightness and sometimes leave it at 100% when using the battery. I basically want to extend the life of the battery if it is possible by disabling or locking the screen brightness at a certain level.

Sure, you could specify a default setting for them in group policy (gpedit.msc), at the location below.

Thanks, but wouldn't it still be changeable using the function keys on the keyboard?

I'm not certain about that. I don't have any to test with.

locking is impossible I think. it is changeable and I think it is very easy and takes few seconds to set back via function keys
