I would shut down and try blowing out the cooling fan with a can of compressed air and fan making noise is not a good sign. Look at the fan and see if it is turning at a normal speed and unobstructed.

In addition, Take out the CPU Fan+Heat sink and get some thermal paste then apply between CPU and Heat sink. Make sure the surfaces are clean before put on the thermal paste

Then take the heat-sink out and clean it with a tooth-brush etc. and replace the fan at the same time.

My laptop which is just under 2 years old started overheating. I'm no PC newbie so I took the laptop all apart, took out the fan, cleaned all the dust out of the fins for the heatsink connected to the cooling pipe. I also cleaned the fan blades. I have never in ten years not seen this fix work -...
I just bought a new HP desktop with i7 4770 CPU, running some CPU intensive applications. I see in the task manager, the CPU usage is at 80-85% usage at 3.64GHz only. This CPU is supposed to be running at 3.9GHz turbo, is my CPU defective? The PC randomly shuts down nearly every hour. Only...
