    Help with Registry

    Hello,
I need some help. I found a registry trick that is supposed to add an option to "delete on reboot" when you right click a file. To allow you to schedule files to be deleted when the computer restarts (incase they are currently in use and cant be). The registry edit looks like this:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\Delete on reboot\command]@="CMD /E:OFF /C REG ADD HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Currentversion\\RunOnce /v \"Del %1 OnNextReboot\" /d ^\"cmd.exe /c DEL /F /Q \\\"%1\\\"\" /f\""

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\Open]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\Delete on reboot\command]@="CMD /E:OFF /C REG ADD HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Currentversion\\RunOnce /v \"Del %1 OnNextReboot\" /d ^\"cmd.exe /c RD /S /Q \\\"%1\\\"\" /f\""

    Can somebody please tell me:
A: how to edit the registry to make this trick work in windows 8 too.

    or if not possible
B: how to remove the registry edit and take away the broken "delete on reboot option"

    Thank you

Did you put in Notepad & save it as a .reg file?

    Example name-- Reboot.reg

That * there is weird to me because I never saw it so far.
Does it misses something to the paths or is it just me?
EDIT: never mind, I see that somewhere else: it's ok. It seems it works on Win XP.

    Yep.
Probably works with older versions & not 8.
