Hello, I have just fitted a MZ-7PD512 SSD to my computer. I have run the Magician software and read the documentation that has come with it. You suggest that the defrag is switched off, I have 3 hard drives in my system , 2 normal HDD''''s (D: and E and the boot drive is the SSD (C. I''''d like to be able to defrag my 2 HDD''''s occasionally and leave defrag switched on with the SDD not selected in the defrag option screen. I have done some research on the internet and I have read in several places that it is ok to leave defrag switched on in Windows 8 as the operating system will detect my SSD and not defrag it and will offer some optimisation with the trim and garbage collection. Could you please confirm on my system with 3 hard drives, 2 HDD''''s and 1 SSD if I am OK to leave defrag enabled on Windows 8 or do you still recommend it is disabled. --------------------------------------------------------

- I did a fresh format and install of Windows 8 64 Bit Pro. Sorry but I couldn't live without a start button so I have installed the Start8 start menu which is great. I try sometimes not to use it but find metro frustrating to find programs as I have many. I will use Metro for apps only and desktop of serious computing.
