Anyone else here care about cable management?

Here is a "before" and "after" picture of a PC that I'm working on for my son's friend. When I see a rat's nest of cables, I assume the person who built or worked on the PC didn't care enough about it to take care of the "details". This was a complete mess, both from a cabling and configuration perspective and it should run better then new when I'm done with it. An amateur built the system and didn't care about the details, so I found at least 6 problems and I'm working through them now...

The rats nest of cables prevented enough airflow through the case and everything had a thick layer of dust on it, enough to damage the fans, so I'm replacing them tonight...

Mine is about between the before and after. neater cables promotes better air flow. Could be a big deal in a gaming rig....

Top notch job there...I'm interested in the problems you found besides the cabling. Could have some useful tips.

Absolutely, I spend a lot of time on cable management even though I don't have flashy cases with windows and hardly ever see the inside of the case. I also cable server racks and panels at work.

    Good Job re-doing it !!!

Cable Management is very important -> giving good air flow especially when OCing and need to minimize temperature.

    Here's one of my toys:

Yeah, it's much better afterwards, I can't stand untidy cabling even if it's out of sight. I also love looking at pics of other peoples cases and there's some pretty awesome ones out there, which are more like art. Here's a couple I've come across from the Fractal Design Case club, although some of the Corsair 600t ones in the Corsair Graphite Club are pretty amazing too.

I'm not sure if this site is keen on people linking to other forums, so I'll put the URL's for the pics here and the mods can delete them if need be:

My system is similar to the "after". I have a modular power supply and an H80 liquid cooler in a Corsair Carbide 500R case.

    YES!

It's irritating to have cables strewn about as it is, regardless if it's in a PC case or USB cables or extension cords.

    Very good job!
