File History Backup of My own folders

    Hi,
I am trying to take backup using Windows 8 File History facility into my External Hard Drive.

As I used to save all my personal data only in E:\Ashok folder and F: total drive just by excluding some folders, I want to take backup of these locations only.

I am not understanding where can I change the configuration to meet this requirement.

Can anybody please suggest me, how to do it?

    Thanks in advance...

Hello kakmca, and welcome to Eight Forums.

File History is more of an updated "Previous Versions" feature that was in Vista and Windows 7.

Instead, you might consider using Windows Backup. It'll easily let you select what folders and drives to backed up.

    Hope this helps,

SlimImage GUI to the windows built in backups can add folders to their version of file history. Need to search&download it at somewhere like majorgeeks.com to get access to it.. still beta. its really pretty nice and simple. Does images too.

Read up on the HUGE change to how Windows 8 handles backups. Largely, as far as O/S backups, it's already covering you automatically without having to fuss with it. It's debatable whether you need to do system partition images anymore but seems like not need. Won't got into the details. A lot of...
