    Lock Screen HELP!!!

    My lock screen engages after my computer is idle for less than 1 minute, creating the need to key in my password every time I log back in. I have gone into Settings, Control Panel, Security, Power Options - downloaded the Console Lock display off time out option and changed it to 30 minutes. I have changed this on ALL power options, not just the active one, but it does not seem to change anything. The lock screen still engages in less than a minute if my computer is idle. What am I doing wrong? Is there another setting somewhere that I need to change?

    Thanks!!

    Test things more by using a custom power plan such as shown below. I use this one often when not wanting anything to interfere with anything else. I assume you turned off the require a password on return from sleep option, at least for now, in Control Panel > Power Options. Try disabling "console Lock display off time out option" for now.

    Thank you for the reply. I believe that I fixed it - Kind of weird though - The Screensaver was set to engage at 1 minute but I didn't have the Screensaver option on?? I unchecked the box that drives the time for the screensaver and it fixed the problem. How would that have affected the Lock screen if I didn't even have the Screensaver option on?

    @Donna,

    If you check the On resume, display logon screen box and do not have a screen saver selected, then it will just go directly to the lock screen instead after the set wait period.

    @dweebken & znod,
    The "lock screen timeout period" you referred to only applies when you are already on the lock screen instead. It's for when to turn off your display after X amount of idle minutes when on the lock screen. Just a FYI.
