I chose this forum because this has to do with security.
I am attaching a prntscrn to illustrate what i mean. The Macrium image is obvious and is 12 GBs
The other icons are from my Win 8 native image and except for the media one which has 600 mbs the other folders say "empty" when you hover over them. Is the native imaging supposed to be that way?
    Thank you
    Peter

The native one that I know is the folder called "WindowsImageBackup" but from this point of view and location, all seems normal.

Go in that folder, with admin permission, and you'll see that is not empty.

Thank you for the very helpful information. I think I have a lot of company around the world.
I usually use administrative privileges by right clicking but when I right click on the folders, the option is not there. How would I do that in this case?

    You're welcome.

Those folders appear empty to all of us.
I also wondered about that but I looked inside to be sure.

    Win 8 admin priv

    Hello
I put this in the wrong section and hope it is appropriate here.
In Win 8 I want to get admin priv so I can see the contents of the imaging folders that say 'empty' when you hover but actually contain information.
In Googling, I found 8 ways but all seemed to be quite complicated. Do you have any easy suggestions once I am at the image icon to obtain administrative privileges.?
    Thank you
    Peter

These two options work fine here:

option 1: You could double click on the folder and select continue when a permission window shows up.

option 2: You could use 7-Zip File Manager running as Administrator and then open the folder with it.

Should work fine on a regular (not guest) account.

I noticed I could click continue. 7 zip did not include Win 8 that I could see. Is its main purpose to run as admin?

7-sees hidden files by default but cannot see inside the image backup folder only as admin.

But when you run 7zip for normal purposes, no admin run is required.

    7 zip

If I install the program I will not have to worry about administrative privileges -that is great.
What about the fact that win 8 is not listed as an os supported. Just disregard it?

    Where?

The program is intended as archiver but is a good file viewer as well.
It's compatible on ALL windowses. I use it even on Win95. Works on 8.
Get the x64 version if you have x64.
