Netflix and Windows lock screens....

It seems a little silly to come here for help on this, but I'm having an issue watching movies on Netflix since I got a new Windows 8 PC...

I can watch them, no problem... but after an hour or so (I've not actually timed it yet) it goes to the lockscreen because of "inactivity".

I've scoured the web and done the 'fixes' to disable the lockscreen, and to edit the delay for it to kick in, but neither option has helped. (According to the sites I've been on, disabling the lock is only for the timeout period to turn off the display when you have already locked the computer, and that is not the issue for me.

What I have done, is to enable the option to display the console lock... and I have set it to 0 minutes, hoping that 0 would mean never, since "never" is not an option... didn't work. I set it to 600 minutes, hoping for a 10 time frame, just for giggles... and it still cut off after the hour or so into a movie.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I am disabled, and spend a great deal of time watching movies from my bed.

Thanks, in advance, for any help. Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

Hello and welcome! :)

I believe I've heard of this issue before with the Netflix app. Nothing else in Windows will cause it to go the lock screen?

If I remember correctly, I think this could be a bug with the app itself...

It seems that if I use the App, it doesn't go to the lock screen. I was having the problem with using the browser (Firefox). I'd much rather use the silverlight player in the Firefox browser to the App, but at least I know I can watch movies without it cutting to the lock screen half way through. (Still hopeful someone might be able to give me a fix for that...)

Thanks for the reply though!
