    Startup item query

In task manager/startup an item "Program" (not measured) appears.

What is it? How can it be deleted (it has been disabled)? Thanks

    Hello Borgus,

You could delete that startup item using OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to remove it.

Already checked those, Brink. Don't see a "Program" item. Thanks and H.N.Y. ^_^

When you right click on it in the Task Manager, does it allow you to be able to click on "Properties" or "Open file location" to help ID what it is for?

Nope - only SEARCH is active, and that leads to an irrelevant Google hunt for the word "Program."

You might see if you may be able to delete the startup item using the free CCleaner. Added as OPTION FOUR in tutorial above.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well.

I have CC, but had forgotten its STARTUP utility. "Program" turns out to be the Windows 8 Sidebar - though it's not labeled as such. Lame. ^_^ You came through again, Brink. Have a good one.

    You're welcome.

Yeah, you gotta love that accurate label.
